Weddings
The venues, from the kitchen’s side.
We’ve cooked the island’s wedding venues; this is the assessment planners give each other. Where the kitchens are good, where the load-in is a hike, and which venues hold exclusive caterer lists.
The botanical gardens
Nā ʻĀina Kai (Kīlauea) and McBryde Garden (South Shore) are the island’s definitive garden venues — and garden venues mean outdoor kitchens, load-in planning, and power we sometimes bring. We’ve run both formats; the quote reflects the site honestly.
Vendor rules vary by venue and season. Some gardens work from preferred lists; where we’re outside a list, we say so in the inquiry reply rather than waste your planning cycle.
The plantation estates
Kōloa-side 1930s plantation houses and the South Shore estate belt: real kitchens, covered lānai, rain tolerance built into the architecture. The easiest venues on the island to cater well, and winter-reliable.
Hanalei-side bluff estates: the island’s best views and its most honest logistics — wind, the long carry, and past a certain point, the bridge clause.
Your own estate
The most common Kauaʻi “venue” is the rental estate itself — which makes the venue assessment a kitchen check: range, counters, power, cover. We run the check before the quote and bring what the kitchen lacks.
The planner handshake
Venue relationships run through planners: we coordinate vendor lists, certificates, load-in windows, and rain plans with your planner in the quote phase. The number you approve already contains the venue’s realities.
Questions, answered
We cater at botanical gardens and estates across the island within each venue’s vendor rules — some run preferred lists, and where we’re outside one we say so early. Ask in the inquiry; the answer is honest either way.
Estates with real kitchens and covered service space — the South Shore plantation belt especially. Remote bluff sites cost more to serve honestly; the quote shows you exactly why.
Some do — site fees and vendor fees are the venue’s lines, not ours, and we don’t mark them up. Our quote covers our scope; your planner reconciles the venue’s.
